Overview
Begin your private shore excursion with convenient pickup directly from Matsuyama Cruise Port. Travel in the comfort of your own private vehicle. Unlike a large group tour, there is no need to keep pace with other travelers, allowing you to enjoy each destination comfortably and at your own pace.
Begin at Matsuyama Castle, one of Japan’s twelve surviving original castle keeps. Take the ropeway up the hillside and explore this impressive historic castle while enjoying panoramic views over Matsuyama City and the surrounding area.
Continue to Dogo Onsen, one of Japan’s most famous and historic hot spring districts. Enjoy a leisurely walk through the atmospheric neighborhood, see the iconic Dogo Onsen Honkan from the outside, and browse the surrounding shopping streets. Please note that bathing is not included in this tour.
Next, visit Isaniwa Shrine, known for its striking vermilion architecture and impressive approach lined with stone steps. Experience the peaceful atmosphere and traditional shrine architecture closely connected to the history of Dogo.
If time permits, continue to Ishiteji Temple, one of the temples of the famous Shikoku 88 Temple Pilgrimage, before returning to the port.
Before your tour, you will receive an exclusive English digital guidebook with detailed information about the itinerary and each sightseeing location. Communication with the driver will be assisted by a translation app.
