Overview

Begin your private shore excursion at Matsue Castle, one of Japan’s 12 remaining original castle keeps and one of only five designated as a National Treasure. Explore the historic castle and enjoy views over Matsue from the top of the keep.

Continue through Matsue’s historic castle town, where traditional streets and buildings preserve the atmosphere of the former samurai city.

Return toward Sakaiminato and visit Mizuki Shigeru Road, an approximately 800-meter street filled with characters and bronze statues inspired by the works of manga artist Shigeru Mizuki. Browse unique shops, local souvenirs, and the distinctive world of Japanese yokai culture.

If time permits, stop at Sakaiminato Fish Center to browse fresh seafood and local products before returning to Sakaiminato Cruise Terminal.
