Overview
Begin your private shore excursion with a convenient pickup directly from Naze Port. Travel in the comfort of your own private vehicle. Unlike a large group tour, there is no need to keep pace with other travelers, allowing you to enjoy each destination comfortably and at your own pace.
Your first stop is Cape Ayamaru Tourism Park, one of Amami’s most scenic coastal viewpoints. Enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, coral reefs, and the subtropical landscape, including the distinctive cycad jungle surrounding the cape. Take a relaxing walk around the viewpoint and enjoy the peaceful island scenery.
Continue to Kagoshima Prefectural Amami Park, where you can learn more about Amami’s natural environment, history, and traditional culture. The park includes Amamino-Sato, which introduces the traditional lifestyle and culture of the Amami Islands, as well as the Tanaka Isson Memorial Museum of Art.
Next, visit Hara Habu-ya, a local shop where you can discover traditional Amami crafts, souvenirs, and products associated with the island’s culture. This is also a convenient stop to take a short break and browse local items.
Continue to Amami Oshima Tsumugimura Co., Ltd., where you can experience the traditional culture of Oshima Tsumugi, one of Amami’s most famous traditional textiles. Learn about the traditional weaving and dyeing processes and see how this distinctive silk textile is produced. Oshima Tsumugi has been an important part of Amami’s culture for more than 1,300 years.
After enjoying the traditional craft experience and the subtropical surroundings, relax during the drive back to Naze Port, arriving with sufficient time to continue your cruise journey.
