#Private Shore Excursion
Maizuru : Red Brick Park & Coastal Highlights – 4H
Overview
Begin your private shore excursion with a convenient pickup directly from Maizuru Port. Travel in the comfort of your own private vehicle. Unlike a large group tour, there is no need to keep pace with other travelers, allowing you to enjoy each destination comfortably and at your own pace.
Your first stop is Gorogatake Park, one of the best panoramic viewpoints overlooking Maizuru Bay. Enjoy spectacular views of the bay, surrounding mountains, and the city from the observation area. This is a relaxing photo stop with minimal walking.
Continue to Yoshihara Inlet, a picturesque historic fishing district known for its narrow waterways, traditional houses, and fishing boats. Often described as having the atmosphere of the “Venice of the East,” the area offers a peaceful opportunity to take photos and experience a different side of Maizuru.
Next, visit Maizuru Port Tore Tore Center Roadside Rest Area, a popular indoor seafood market featuring fresh seafood from the Sea of Japan. Browse the market, see the variety of local marine products, and enjoy some free time for shopping or a light snack. The center is located close to Maizuru Port and provides visitor facilities, including accessible toilets.
The final sightseeing stop is Maizuru Red Brick Park, where historic red-brick warehouses built between 1900 and 1921 preserve the atmosphere of Maizuru's former naval district. Several of the buildings have been renovated and are now used as museums, cafés, shops, and event spaces. Take a leisurely walk around the historic buildings and enjoy some time for photos and souvenirs.
After exploring Maizuru's scenic coastline, local seafood, and historic red-brick heritage, return to Maizuru Port
Before your tour, you will receive an English audio guide and digital guidebook, downloadable to your own device, with information about the itinerary and each sightseeing location.
