#Private Shore Excursion
Shingu Wakayama : Kumano Shrines & Castle Ruins – 4H
Overview
Begin your private shore excursion with convenient pickup directly from Shingu Cruise Port. Travel in the comfort of your own private vehicle with a dedicated professional driver, allowing you to explore at your own pace without having to follow the schedule of other travelers.
Discover the spiritual heritage and history of Shingu, beginning at Kumano Hayatama Taisha, one of the three grand shrines of Kumano and an important sacred site along the UNESCO-listed Kumano Kodo pilgrimage routes.
Continue to Kamikura Shrine, an ancient sacred site dramatically located on a mountainside. The shrine is known for the massive Gotobiki-iwa rock, which has been worshipped as a sacred object since ancient times.
Next, visit the Shingu Castle Ruins, now known as Tankaku Castle Park. Explore the remains of the former hilltop castle and enjoy views over Shingu City and the surrounding landscape.
After discovering the spiritual and historical highlights of Shingu, your driver will return you to Shingu Cruise Port with the itinerary planned to leave a comfortable margin before your scheduled boarding time.
The driver speaks Japanese, and communication will be assisted by a translation device. Before your tour, you will receive an English digital guidebook with information about the itinerary and each sightseeing location. Pre-tour customer support is available in English.
